View Article  I am offically endorsing McCain for POTUS (but not tonight)

First of all I am just so enamored with Governor Palin.  She is what the Republican’s need…. A fighter and although McCain is at the top of the ticket he became sort of P.O.W in Washington.  With all due respect to the Senator’s Vietnam experience the Maverick that we was accustomed to seeing was was Pitiful Obtuse and Weak (P.O.W).

The self described hockey mom performed a hat trick last night and showed America that Alaska is not all about cold weather, the “Pitbull Alaskan” can bring some heat.  I love it.  She has rescued the McCain campaign and conservatives are exited.

The reason that I can not support McCain tonight is because, it is football season my Redskins are playing tonight and they take priority except for church (Tivo comes in handy on Sundays) Paraphrasing Barak Obama

“There is no Red America, there is no Blue America….. There is A Burgundy and Gold America”

God Bless America and Hail to the Redskins!

The hiatus I have been on is due to me being in school and finally earning my Master’s Degree in Information Technology. I completed the program online through American Intercontinental University.  Retirement for me is about 24 months away.  I have no regrets about choosing a path in the military, I have my ups and downs, contemplated about not re-enlisting several times. The last time I raised my right hand was during the major combat operations.  It was my last time I would have to re-enlist.  I stuck with it and now the rest is history.  To borrow the line from the great General Douglas McAurthur “Duty, Honor, Country” was what inspired me to continue on. But most importantly God’s grace and my faith in the Lord to march on.

Exercise rider Michelle Nevin (center) holds Preakness favorite Big Brown after his morning workout and bath as trainer Richard Dutrow (right) looks on.

Big brown is favorite to win the Preakness which is the second stage of the Triple Crown series.  I Love this horse and barring any kind of freak incident at the race track in Baltimore, Big Brown will win.  According to the experts the field may not that great but I will be watching Gayego and Kentucky Bear and probably Giant Moon to either place.

We Will see.

On a somber note, The Preakness will bring allot of people to the track, yet I feel that this may be one of the last Preakness race that the storied track Pilmico will host. Because of politics and other factors, the passion and pride for Horse Racing Maryland is dwindling.

Here is to a great race.

View Article  Army May Have to Borrow to Meet Payroll

“Secretary of Defense Robert Gates wrote letters to members of Congress Monday encouraging them to pass the supplemental by Memorial Day, or money to pay Army troops will run out by June 15.”

Army May Have to Borrow to Meet Payroll.

I don’t think the paychecks will be cut off.  It might be additional allowances such “combat pay” and family separation pay that may be in jeopardy if the the supplement isn’t approved by congress.

It will get signed, no one in Democrat controlled congress wants to be against the troops.  This is a political game of chess in which both sides are using the troops as pawns.

No wonder Congress approval ratings are low.

Victor Von Doom is the quintessential villain, too damn smart for his own good, I have been told that on a few. These days now that I am older, and more ground the Dr Doom in me is buried.  At times he may wreak is ugly face.

I try to keep the vanity suppress,, that is why I have lasted 17 1/2 years in the Army. But then again this cigar smoking rebel has alienated a few in his time.

Iron Man Vol 2 21Who would have thought that a B-list super hero such as Iron-Man would be a big box office draw at the movies this past weekend.  A highly favorable review by critics surely did help.  But regardless of that, a comic book nerd such as myself would have paid to see it anyway, even if I would have went by myself.  Believe me when I tell you this, my brats did not want to see this movie. Not even my own brother for whom we both share a mutual interest in comics.  I am the avid collector my brother is more of a reader. Nevertheless my best friend and love of my life Tanya stood by her man and supported me, when I told by the brats that ‘I was so pressed to see this movie” (Maybe it was because of my Iron Man screen saver on the computer) Hmmmm.  I did threaten sell off my whole collection of comics when I get old.  Not to pass it down to them. Their argument to me was, I don’t know about Iron man like we know Spider Man or Wolverine (not the X Men).

Yes Spidey and Logan are two of the most popular heros in the Marvel Universe. But Tony Stark aka Iron Man is the richest, and over the past few years Marvel Comics has promoted Tony Starks to A-list status. (Read Marvel’s Civil War Series).  I have collected Iron Man comics since I was a teen.

This is the arguably one of the best Comic book movies that was produced. The geeks that work at the place where I by my comics from agree are in agreement with me.  The original origin was set during the Vietnam era but updating it to coincide with the current era was great. Robert Downey Jr was Tony Starks and the irony of the both characters is that their personal lives sort of parallel.  Tony Starks had a serious drinking problems and and at one his point personal demons prevented him from donning the Iron Man armor.  His buddy James Rhodes (Rhodie) wore the Iron Man armor, but when Tony recovered he constructed another suit for his best friend and Rhodie became “War Machine”War Machine 1

The movie gave a hint that there might be an appearance of War Machine in the sequel.  Terrence Howard as War Machine? I wasn’t really feeling him as Rhodie. Tanya thinks Jamie Fox would have been a better fit. I agree with her. Gwenth Palthrow as Pepper Potts and Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane was a perfect fit.  Jeff Bridges had that Stone Cold Steve Austin look going.

Ol Sarge is truly showing is geeky side.

I can’t wait for the sequel!!

As of late, I have been just as quiet as my Washington Redskins searching for a head coach.  Well I have been busy on the home from and work front.

I have hit my 17th year in the Army. three more to go until retirement.

Speaking of my Redskins.  What the hell is going on in DC.  Dan Synder (the owner) for whom I have been an apologist for in the past has destroyed the continuity he wanted when Joe Gibbs retired. He wanted to hire Jim Fassel (Fossil) as the next Skins coach. Skins fans rebelled.  Next he fired Greg Williams, the man that fans and the players wanted to replace coach Gibbs.  I will root for the Skins but I will not buy a single ticket or merchandise this year (not even with my Bush rebate check)  That is going towards my Archos

About Gibbs, Tony Stewart looks better driving a Chevy then a piece of crap Toyota Camry.  Anyway it will all about Jeff, Jimmie and Junior (Them Hendricks boys) Can’t wait to see that 88 at Daytona.

Caron Butler for the Wizards should be an MVP candidate.

If I was a democrat I would give a rats ass about Bill trying to hate on Obama.  The way to get after Obama is to treat him as a Black Republican.  Hmmm isn’t that what the Clintons are trying to do.  Why is experience so important anyhow.  Affirmative action was suppose to solve that. The white liberals should elated about Obama.  I allays said that white women were the only people who truly benefited from affirmative action. just look a Hillary.  Without Bill where would she be….

I guess still selling shady land to old people
