View Article  My 100 Greatest Hip Hop Songs 100 - 90

FatboysSeveral weeks ago I watched VH1 100 greatest Hip Hop songs of all time.  Zone of my complaints was some of the songs that were chosen were simply wack.  Young MC ahead of Pete Rock and CL smooth and Doug E Fresh the show was real low.  I understand commercial success does pay a major factor, however it won’t on my list.  Is this list bias?... As Sarah Palin would say “You Betcha”.   You will not be seeing the likes of Lil Wayne or anybody who I think is garbage.  This is my list and I’m pretty sure you will agree with most of my picks.

100.        Sweet Tee “On the Smooth Tip” Testing My Mic 1 2 1 2 I’m here to entertain and this means you. The song sampled Parliament’s “Mothership Connection” with a nice drum beat and Sweet Tee’s lyrical delivery made this song “Smooth”

99.          Too Short “Life is Too Short” Short Dawg was on the first West Coast rappers I listened to.  School Boy Crush by Average White Band is an often sampled song.  Too Short pulled it off with this classic

98.          Boss “Recipe of a Hoe” Lyrically back in the day Boss was tops for a female, Despite the title Recipe of a Hoe is classic head as she condems certain types in industry.  This song remains up in rotation on my Zune.

97.          U.T.F.O “Ya Cold Wanna Be With Me” One of the songs I use to sang to my girl back in day and on occasion still do.

96.          Fat Boys “Fat Boys” They were known as the Disco 3 and changed their names to the Fat Boys after this classic.  Listening to Buff beat box is what makes Hip Hop great to me.

95.          T La Rock “It’s Yours” A Classic in a true sense.  It’s Yours!!!!!

94.          3 Times Dope “Funky Dividends” These Brothers from Philly talk about being frugal and gold diggers.

93.          Cool C “Glamorous Life” OJ Simpson of hip hop was representing Philly with this classic, Predates the bling bling that has corrupted Hip Hop

92.          Das EFX “Mic Checka” Their flow predated Bone Thugs. Straight head nod.  I’m pretty sure you if you head this sing now you trying to flow..  Riggety Rau!

91.           Chubb Rock “Ya Bad Chubbs” Underrated for his lyrical skills, If you sit and listen to Chubb’s flow on this hit, DAMN would be your reaction.

90. The Lady of Rage “Afro Puffs” I still get a head rush listening to Rage lyrics on this song. The Street Fighter reference is classic

View Article  Rove to the Left..... Marx to the Right.....

I feel that those on the left look at “Karl Rove” the same way as those on the right look at “Karl Marx”.  Liberals have come up with cute word like “Rovian”, I waiting on for the day when liberals start using the calling conservatives who espouse free market ideas a “Rovenist”.  I feel like it’s coming, and in the age of the Obama (if he so happens to be elected our 44th President) it will be reality.  Rove derangement syndrome is prevalent.  The economy is in crisis it is all Rove’s fault, the War on Terrorism is all Rove’s fault and If Obama loses the election it was because of Karl Rove.  Can I blame the Patriot’s lost in Superbowl on Karl Rove? I might as well.  How can one man who hasn’t written a manifesto nor has been elected to any public office become so vilified.  Who does the left hate more Rush, Rove or Hannity?

When will the Rovian Manifesto be written? I will like the read the firsthand account of the boogey man’s doctrine for “turning the executive branch into a political arm of the Republican Party, stoking fear and division amid the electorate, trashing opponents without mercy, and casting national security as a wedge issue”, according to Dan Froomin Washington Post article so aptly titled The End of Rove's Dream.

So in a Rovenistic manner those on the left are guilty of using those same tactics to attack those who they disagree with.  Trust me I live in Maryland where the democrats that rule our “Animal Farm” will lie, cheat, steal and raise taxes to stay in power then tell us slot machines are good for us to have now, when they were downright evil when a republican governor proposed them a few years ago.  By the way our recently elected democratic governor of 2006 wants slots in Maryland.

Talk about the “Snowball” effect huh

Yet when the sun finally sets on President Bush legacy, history might be kind to him however Karl Rove will probably be the Rasputin of our times.  The liberals will make sure of it.
