View Article  R.I.P The Godfather

00FJV_James_BrownSix years ago me and a group of my military buddies met James Brown at a restaurant in Augusta Georgia. The Godfather was eating and relaxing with a lady friend just minding his business. The Godfather was nice enough  to take a picture with us and sign autographs (which I have since lost) He never said more than two words to us but it didn’t matter. He just smiled and went back to eating with his friend and wave at us when we left.   One of buddies has that picture we took.  (So T-dawg hook Ol Sarge up with the picture will ya)

James Brown was the greatest entertainer of all time and clearly the hardest work man in show business.  Every Friday night pops use to play James Brown (Funky Good Time, Hot Pants, Papa Got a Brand New Bag, Please Please Please, The Big Payback).  Pops use to brag about how he saw the Godfather……………Guess what pops?  I met the Godfather

OWWWW I feel good

View Article  Built Ford Tough

Gerald-fordI was about two years old when President Ford became our 38th President.  It doesn't matter whether or not he was elected with a mandate by the American people, he held the Office that few had held and he served with honor, integrity and and restored a sense of dignity to White House.  I can not even imagine in this day and age how President Ford would have been able to lead our nation if the Watergate scandal would have happen now.  I ask my father how President Ford did it and he told me that like a Ford truck he was “built tough” and was able to handle that heavy payload. Now granted my dad is a General Motors man and he dislikes the Republicans as much as the Washington Redskins.  My dad did not have a bad thing to say about President Ford.

Thanks Pops (How about your Cowboys)
