Cambridge Massachusetts, the place were General George Washington took command of the newly formed Continental Army, was the scene where angry antiwar protesters clashed with police during the US Army 230th Birthday celebration. 7 idiots were arrested in the melee.

According to the Boston Globe

The protests outraged some spectators who brought children to the event.

''They are just ignorant, and they don't know what they are doing," said Brigit Smith, whose husband, Sergeant First Class Paul Smith of Tampa, was killed in Iraq in April 2003. He was the first soldier awarded the Medal of Honor in the Iraq war for his courage in the Battle of Baghdad Airport. The couple's 11-year-old son, David, led the Pledge of Allegiance yesterday afternoon to a backdrop of boos and sneers.

It is such a shame that those idiots would blatantly disrespect the institution that protects the very freedom they take for granted.  For one day just out of the respect for those that serve let us celebrate freedom in peace. Without an Army is peace possible?
