How about those Heels
by

How about those Heels. So far I’ve watched 3 Tarheels games. They play hard on both ends of the court and exude that Carolina tradition and pride that I have had a pleasure of watching ever since I was a child. Forward David Noel is leading the way by providing the senior leadership which freshmen on team follow. Although this is early and I won’t make any bold predictions, Carolina will surprise a lot of teams. With the play of Reyshawn Terry and the emergence of freshmen Tyler Hansboro. A birth to the NCAA’s big dance is not a far fetched prediction. LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Reyshawn Terry scored 25 points to help North Carolina jolt No. 10 Kentucky 83-79 on Saturday, giving the Tar Heels a big road victory that ended the Wildcats' 11-game winning streak at Rupp Arena. This was a matchup of basketball teams that rank 1-2 in NCAA Division I in overall wins, and defending champion North Carolina showed it is still plenty dangerous despite a depleted roster. The Tar Heels lost the top seven scorers from the team that won it all last season _ three to graduation and four to the NBA draft. (rest of the story)

ATTTENT..HUT Hero
Ole Sarge just received his orders to go on another recruiting trip. This time my Commander in Chief has giving me the authorization to recruit outside my prescribe boundary. Ole Sarge gets to take him a lil a trip north on the BW Parkway (Baltimore Washington) and stop in Charm City (Baltimore) to read the “Idiot Oath of Enlistment” being that we love acronyms in the military from hence forth the “Idiot Oath Enlistment” will be called I.O.E’s Fresh from the pages of the Baltimore Sun. “The Baltimore City Council took a break yesterday from the routine of local government - renaming schools, appointing bureaucrats to commissions, closing alleys - and delved into U.S. foreign policy by demanding the immediate withdrawal of American troops from Iraq.”
Baltimore was named the 6th most dangerous city in America. With a mayor who wants the people of Maryland to promote him to Governor and with local council members in the past passing resolutions for demanding the right of self-determination for the Lithuanian people, condemning slavery in Mauritania, criticizing the repression of the Ahmadiyya religious movement by the Pakistani government, and calling for the end of violence in Northern Ireland and apartheid in South Africa. I didn’t mind filling up my gas guzzling SUV to drive to B-More. I figure since the Army is having such a hard time recruiting, I might as well try to humor myself and enlist as many as I can in the Army of Idiots. Quite charming isn’t it……. Ole Sarge thinks that the reason why the Baltimore City Council wants the troops out of Iraq is to stop fighting Al Qaeda and go after Al Thugga in B-More. Ole Sarge is out DISMISS!

Whew! UNC 83, GW 80

Courtesy of Inside Carolina CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- The Tar Heels couldn't finish off the game from the free throw line, so it took a David Noel three-pointer to bounce in with less than 2 seconds left to give UNC the win. Tyler Hansbrough had 21 points, while Danny Green and Noel both finished with 17. Stay tuned to Inside Carolina for a full postgame report from the Smith Center ... I am not going to make a bold prediction about my beloved Tarheels. After losing about 93 percent of your scoring, I really don’t know what to say about this years crop of Heels. They are young, inexperienced and unranked. However I will say this Ole Roy will have those boys playing ball and it will be just a matter of time when the Heels will dominate the ACC. You Duke fans better win it all this year, because the Heels will be stacked with its number 1 recruiting class next year.

Watching Harry Potter

I picked the girls up early on Friday and took them to see the new Harry Potter flick. Was the movie worth the 21 dollar matinee price I paid for me and my two brats? Well out of the previous three Harry Potter films, this one was clearly the best. Harry is no longer the boy wizard, he is a teenager who has taken an interest in girls and at times you can see the seriousness off his character come out in the movie. Dark times are ahead for Harry and Lord Voldemort is back to exact his revenge. The movie earn every bit of its PG-13 rating and I caution parents to take that into consideration. My three year old can handle the dragons. The books make for good reading and I enjoy reading them to my girls. I am getting the girls ready to go see Narnia. I read CS Lewis’s book as a child and I am excited about the the live version. I hope Disney does right by the book. The Official Harry Potter site The Official Chronicles of Narnia site
