I happen to take the day off today and tend to my sick daughters. While the girls were convalescing. I had the TV tuned into Dr. Rice's conformation hearings. Is it my imagination or is Dr Rice interviewing for other cabinet positions. The questions or lack thereof seems like they can best be answered by Secretary Rumsfield, Attorney Ascroft, Secretary Snow in their respective positions. Dr. Rice handled herself gracefully and very diplomatic which is why she was chosen to be America's senior diplomat. If that was me being questioned by the likes of Barbara Boxer or John Kerry in since pitiful partisan way. I would have pulled a Col Jessup (Few Good Men) because THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!.
That is why I will never be Secretary if State. (Although I would like to work at Foggy Bottom) Links: Rice Pledges Better Relations With Allies (Newsmax) Rice Pledges to Mend Ties With Allies (Washington Post) Tuesday, January 4

Criminals to Face New Hurdle On D.C.-Prince George's Line (washingtonpost.com) Capitol Heights Mayor Joyce Nixon and Deputy Police Chief James Jenkins walk the footpath where a six-foot-high fence will be built. A six feet tall chain link fence with spikes will be built along a footpath that separates Capitol Heights, Maryland from the District of Columbia (DC). For years insurgents and terrorists have plague that area much to the dismay and frustrations of the local residents. As Jamie Stockwell of the Washington Post Writes .” In many ways, Southern Avenue defines Capitol Heights, home to 4,100 people. Southern Avenue, along with Eastern Avenue, located a few blocks away, has long been the site of a frustrating game of jurisdictional ping-pong for authorities. When D.C. officers patrol their side of the line, drug dealers and prostitutes often cross over to Maryland. When Prince George's officers arrive, the offenders jump back to the District. Unless officers see a felony in progress, they are generally barred from crossing the line” A better effort from the police department needs to be made in order to combat the local terrorism which plagues the region. When ordinary law biding citizens have to resort to putting up a fence to feel protected. A disservice has been done. We need to stop appeasing the criminals and severely punish bad behavior. I wonder if is any room left in GITMO? Check out the Sundries Shack proclamation to Tear down this wall! Monday, January 3

2005 is finally here and I am looking forward to doing my part and continue to fight the good fight. The good fight for me is not a fight in a physical sense such as the fights we are engaged in in the war on terrorism. Yet, my good fight is the classic fight of right versus wrong. As long as I seek guidance in God through Jesus Christ. I will take my marching orders from them and fight in what I believe is right and...................... Soldier on!
On that Note:
My dear friend LaShawn Barber was responsible for putting this event together. I was happy to finally meet the woman whose website I read faithfully while I was in Iraq. She was truly inspiration for me to start the Herald. It is an honor to have such a good friend. Finally I am constantly getting alot of "thank you for protecting freedoms " of the citizenry. Although I am grateful for your gratitude. I would like to reciprocate the thanks to the American people. Why? because I believe that the American people are the backbone of the fabric which makes my country strong. Without a strong backbone to support the weight of the blanket of freedom (our flag) which we carry and protect through our blood and sacrifice, we would not be able to stand up at all............ You are truly my backbone I salute you A special shout out and thanks goes out to the following Dave HuberBijan BayneFaces behind the webspaces: (Credit goes to Lola Lee) Thank You
